This exploration tour starts at the National Park building and takes us along the wild cat trail down to the Thaya. Two vantage points offer fascinating
views of Hardegg and the river bends.
Along the award-winning themed trail, the aim is to track down the shy wild cat from hidden silhouettes. National park
rangers provide information about the rediscovery of feral cats in Thayatal and explain why the near-natural national park forest is an ideal habitat for the rare wild cat.
The destination of the hike is the Einsiedlerfelsen (hermit’s rock) rock formation at the banks of the Thaya. Discover the old rock dwelling in the rock face high above the Thaya and learn the tragic story of the hermit.
